Welcome to the 2026 Western Cape VIRTUAL Eisteddfod (WCVE). We are thrilled to have you join us for this year's exciting event.

Since its establishment in May 2020, the WCVE has grown in popularity and success. In its first year, it received nearly 1200 entries from schools all over the Western Cape province. The following year, the 2021/2022 WCVE expanded to welcome participants from all 9 provinces of South Africa and even reached beyond borders to include schools from Harare, Zimbabwe, and Namibia.

The success of this event has been made possible by a panel of 21 specialist adjudicators who provided insightful comments and set a high standard for the future of this platform, dedicating a total of 88 hours to the judging process.

“This was an extremely positive experience - all very well organised and helpful  and friendly assistance whenever needed.

The adjudication comments were most helpful.  Thank you for all the hard work!”

Hayley White, Hudson Park Schools

“The smiles and confidence boost for my students who live "in the shadows" of the students who are always receiving accolades/achieving, was heartwarming to see.

Thank you for creating this space for them to shine too!"

Liesl Ludik, Visual Art teacher

“The WCVE is a wonderful opportunity for young learners to showcase their talents and it is very well coordinated.”

Daniela Torino, Teacher

“Phenomenal event and attention to detail. Organisers were always professional and helpful.”

Rennay Dorasamy, Parent
